our four pillars

1.  Education for All

TIES THAT BIND FOUNDATION BELIEVE THAT NO CHILD SHOULD BE DEPRIVED OF THE OPPORTUNITY TO GAIN ACCESS TO EDUCATION DUE TO FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES.

TTBF strives to provide equal accessibility for education to underprivileged children, which in turn equip the child with better skills & employment opportunities thereby improving the standard of living of the individual.

Areas of Focus

Over the last 10 years, we have found that people in our neighborhood, who make our lives easier, struggle to make ends meet which directly impact the abilities to provide for their children’s education. Keeping this in mind, we target such families and contribute a sum of money every month, which accumulates over the year, thereby providing financial relief to the families concerned.

Education is considered the strongest pathway towards building a superior life, thus empowering them to envision themselves as equally contributing citizens towards the world.  Millions of children are still denied their right to education because of poverty.

We envision a system that multiplies prospects for all students which allows them to gain the skills and knowledge necessary, thereby paving a path for them to thrive in their life. Your valued contributions/donations will aid in sponsoring more children, thus snowballing the effect year on year.

Our Strategy:

We try to identify families in and around our neighborhood who work incredibly hard to fend for their family, where even paying nominal fees becomes a struggle. TTBF ensures that the monetary support provided, is used solely for the payment of their academic fees without which the children cannot access or afford the high-quality school education. Need based scholarships and fee subsidies are provided to deserving students through this program. Ties that Bind Foundation, with your contribution/donation will help build a future for children that will make them escape poverty that is passed on from generation to generation.

TTBF’s own testimony towards their cause, have acquired a land of 40,000 sq ft in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India to build a school for underprivileged children.

Real people, real stories…

Education-in-India-1000x558-1.png

- My husband was a Cobbler by profession. I work as a domestic help and helped my husband side by side. Our lives turned upside down when he met with a two wheeler accident which took his life. As he was the sole breadwinner, it became increasingly difficult to get my 3 children educated. Through TTBF, I was able to get financial sponsorship for all three of them. The eldest has successfully completed college and is working in a good company, while the other two are still studying.

- My mother was a domestic help and sold flowers in the evening. My father left us and couldn’t take care of our family. I used to help my mother sell flowers after school. One day while collecting flowers, she suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away.  Not having both our parents, to prevent our education from stopping, TTBF sponsored mine and my younger sibling’s school fees.

- I worked as a domestic help in houses. My husband who initially worked as an Auto Driver, suddenly was struck down with multiple health ailments which required him to be hospitalized and was bed ridden for two years. Costs of medicine was high and being the sole earner of the family, paying the fees of my children became difficult. Through TTBF, I was able to avail some financial relief and could attend to both my children’s education and my husband’s health. They have now completed their education and are earning well without being dependent on anyone which makes me very proud.
